Overview
Are you a woman looking to build your leadership skills? Do you want to learn new tools for effective workplace communication, negotiation and conflict resolution? The Women in Leadership course will assist you to develop higher levels of communication and leadership skills as you explore workplace paradigms and your own identity and emotional intelligence.

    The number of women in executive positions globally and in South Africa remains disturbingly low.


    The Women in Leadership course has been designed to address this issue through exploring the South African workplace paradigm and the delegate's own identity and emotional intelligence in order to develop higher levels of communication and leadership skills.


    Besides an increased self-awareness regarding your own personal attributes as a leaders, you will build leaderships skills and learn how to apply new tools for effective workplace communication, negotiation and conflict resolution.


    Course Content

    The course will include the following elements:

    • Psychometric assessment using recognised instruments in the participants' leadership development
    • Diversity, power and patriarchy in South African workplaces as they affect women in leadership
    • Emotional intelligence (EQ) in leadership and gender equality
    • Managing personal and professional imbalances of power
    • The woman's role in effective workplace communication
    • Decision making, problem solving, reality testing and impulse control towards dissolving power imbalances
    • Resilience and managing stress in the workplace
    • Leadership in the workplace through a feminist lens
    • Teambuilding and team leadership
    • Developing and implementing organisational strategies
    • Negotiation skills with a specific focus on being a woman in a leadership role


    Each participant will work on a personal leadership quest during the course using the skills and knowledge developed to design a personal brand and leadership plan going forward.
